Object Based Drawing

The third session listed for John Kelly's process and production sessions, physical studio, had us making observational drawings of objects that were in front of us. Shown in this post, you will see a total of five illustrations that are based off of the objects that we were provided with. For instance, the image that features a large 'S' was based off of an object that looked pixelated in nature, but all in all was literally a large and 3-dimensional 'S'.

Other objects that were drawn in this session were also from boxes, i.e. the logo-like text "Baywest" of which had been drawn from an cardboard box. Each table in the room holding the session had a different object that the students on the table must illustrate, and over the course of the session we would switch around the objects. By the time it had come around to the final moments of the session, we had created illustrations from all tables. My favourite illustration would probably be the one that was created with the interesting glass sculpture. Something else that can be found accompanying a selection of the images is a small palette that included the colours used in the illustrated piece.
