Assessment Preparation (1a)
Along with a few tips for us to utilise when presenting our works, we were given feedback from both our groups and tutors during this seminar. The feedback was on the draft presentations that we had created before the session. With my chosen subject being Automation in Design, there was a lot of factual information that could be included, and just to get the information there I planted blocks of information on my presentation slides.
The feedback so far has been extremely helpful as it has improved my presentation from its first draft to its formative-ready version. Below you can find images that showcase the breakdown of the presentation that I have given to myself and also the feedback that was given from others;
The feedback I gave myself was to basically shrink down all of the information presented, or at least change it into note form and use it for the oral side of the presentation. An important piece of feedback given by Polina was to make sure I establish what 'Automation' actually is, this is something I can definitely take on board. I found this piece of feedback the most important because of how true the statement actually is, to each person that I have brought the subject up to they seem to be confused at the thought of it.
Another good piece of feedback was to make sure that I could refine the subject matter down further at my research question. Looking at the research question opens up too few possibilities, the question I had previously chosen was "Should the design industry be concerned about automation?" which is very much a yes or no question. I have also thought of using a time frame in this question, maybe helping to make it slightly more concise in my discussion of the subject. After this session I found that I had a more focused look at how I wanted my final presentation to unfold - and also what I should include before moving forwards with it in general. Good feedback was given all in all, and it will be built on in further research and so on.
