Research Seminar - Extended Activity

At the end of Friday's seminar, we were asked to do a few things before next weeks seminar session. One being to keep up to date with lecture and topic notes through putting them onto the blog, and the other two about finding a topic for a subject to investigate.

Following from this, I had gone on to research around some areas that may have been of interest to me. Or at least one of them were going to root into something, which it did. And that idea was based around 'Automation', going into detail and making it relevant to design by talking about its effects on the design industry. In some aspects of the design community, automating the design process is becoming more of a recurring factor in modern day companies.

The title I'd use for this topic is still yet to be decided, it falls under examples like; "Automation and Design", "Automating Design", or "Automation of Design", all of which are not fully decided nor off the table entirely. Some subjects that I have found through some basic research into the topic talk about automation destroying the web design community - this is because things such as 'Wordpress' and 'Blogger' are around now to stop the need for creatives to build sites. Such facilities give people more opportunity to just get content out onto the web rather than wait around for sites to be created.

The 'How?' aspect to my research so far is to look at how automation is effecting the many parts of design. Touching on what parts of the industry are safer than others from going under from being automated, who won't, why it may or may not be a good thing and a few other things as well.
