Essay & Visual Appendix
"Essay Means Argument", this is how the seminar was introduced. This shows us that in your essay you make your case and show the opinions on both sides of it. An essay is not just a descriptive text, it is instead a communication of research with arguments attached. An essay is a concise display of evidenced thinking, on paper. Essay's should not be even closely considered to a descriptive novel, as its supposed to be short and sweet whilst remaining packed with useful information and interesting discussion points. Considering all of this, every claim that is made within your essay should be backed up with solid evidence to support the arguments being made throughout.
Looking into the appendix and brief further we can see that it requires a clear defined structure, clear narrative and must be well written. Through the seminar we're shown how we shouldn't have any grammatical errors at any point - and looking further down the seminar series this is something that will be brought up again with our Literature Review when we get to a later stage of developing our essays. To summarise, there are specific do's and don'ts that should be considered as a constant point of referral through the essays creation. This is only to ensure that no simple mistakes are being made at any point when forming a strong, considered essay.
